jv-94c-webI spent several years with my priority list upside down.

For most of my professional life, I was deeply engaged in climbing the corporate ladder. But was I at peace? No. Was I healthy, emotionally or physically? Not even close. Over the years, I would lose weight, only to gain it all back again. I continued to repeat this vicious cycle until I adjusted my thinking and began to listen, really listen, to my body’s internal messages.

One of my several serendipitous wake-up calls came one day when reading the side of my Starbucks cup.

“By the time executives get married, take on a mortgage, raise kids, cope with the crabgrass, climb the corporate ladder, do their best to manage career pressures, build their net worth and get into their 40s, they’ve lost touch with what they believe in and care about most deeply.”

-The Way I See It #296 – from Allan Cox, CEO coach and author of Your Inner CEO:  Unleash the Executive

With this truth, I surrendered to the fact that I had given away part of my life to a twisted definition of success, unhealthy expectations and external goals. I had lost touch with myself and some of what I cared about most deeply.

I knew things had to change. I also knew that I was being drawn by an unexplainable magnetic force to Martha Beck’s work and the art of life coaching. While learning to help others, I hired my own weight loss coach. With her assistance, I found strength, freedom, joy and emotional health. In turn, the physical pounds started to dissolve along with the weight of my limiting beliefs.  To date, I’ve lost 25 pounds that I know is forever in my rear view mirror.

I’m continuously studying with the masters.
Dr. Martha Beck (author, teacher, frequent Oprah guest and columnist for ‘O – The Oprah Magazine’) and her team of Master life coaches are, hands down, the most authentic souls I have ever met.   I’ve also personally trained with Brooke Castillo, Master Coach and author of If I Am So Smart, Why Can’t I Lose Weight? and Self Coaching 101. In addition to being a wonderful teacher, her tools are practical and brilliantly simple to implement and sustain.  I am proud to be part of both these women’s tribe.

I took back and redefined my life.
It was through this growth process that I decided to pursue a coaching career. I was living a fuller, richer life, and I wanted to help others achieve the same transformation. I created LiteThoughts to help clients discover the joys of a healthy spirit and body. The principles are rooted in compassion, proven coaching methods, and my belief that anything is possible.

I love my clients, and I love what I do.
