How I Work
This is not a cookie-cutter weight loss or coaching program.
It is a life style approach that is specifically tailored for you.
Permanent change is not about white-knuckling it through a program that sounds too good to be true or that flies against your own innate wisdom. (Whew… I agree!)
It might also come as a relief that you don’t have to drastically change your schedule or routine to start seeing results. Coaching is designed to help gently reshape your life and create sustainable success.
Since everyone is unique, there is no “one size fits all” solution. All of the programs are customizable to work for you. The key is to find what makes you feel calm and in control so you can drop your unwanted baggage when it no longer serves you.
How Does Coaching Work?
The process begins with questioning your own internal dialog and belief systems.
Why?
My guess is that you’ve read countless books on how to lose weight and all of that knowledge flies out the window when it’s a showdown between you and your pantry.
Permanent weight loss is not about counting calories or crunches. It’s about exploring, feeling and dissolving the beliefs that lead you over-eat and under-move in the first place.
Coincidentally, permanent stress loss is not about completing the to-do list or reducing your caffeine intake. It’s about dismantling the beliefs that cause you stress and finding play to fill your soul.
The mental and physical weight is the just symptom. Your unhealthy thoughts and beliefs create the problem.
My job is to help you uncover and dissolve these beliefs.
Whether your goal is to lose stress or weight, change your career or simply become happier, we’ll begin with a lot of questions. The first steps include:
- Painting a clear vision of what you want and why;
- Clearing the path between where you are and where you want to be; and
- Devising a strategy around what you’re willing to do to get there.
Of course, you intellectually know that these basic steps work. However, our thoughts and feelings don’t always lead us to act intelligently. If they did, you wouldn’t be reading this.
Lasting results are based on figuring out why you steer away from the above mentioned vision, path and strategy.
The answer is in the “Why.” Why you do what you do when you know it won’t get you what you want?
What if you don’t know why?
The reality is that you do know. The clues have just been stuffed down with food, disregarded as irrelevant or back-burnered by stress. The answers lie within your essential self and they long to be heard.
I can help you find and listen to the voice with the answers.

What You Can Expect From Me
Empathy. I was fully engaged in the stress/diet yo-yo mentality for 20+ years. My workaholic tendencies began as “drive” and “passion.” Overeating fueled the overworking. Together they grew into a brilliant decoy mechanism to cover up my real issues. Then the “drive” led me straight into the ditch. I’ve been there. And I know how to get out.
Honesty. My work is based on the premise of being transparent, authentic and open. I won’t pretend to know your answers, but I will openly voice my hunches. I expect the same honestly in return. As an added bonus, I will not play the part of the food police or a scolding parent. You’ve probably already got someone to fill those roles.
Humor. Can you imagine a path to joy that is deadly serious and somber? (Me either.) Conjure up the image of the last time you threw your head back and laughed so hard that your sides ached. Now remember how you felt as you caught your breath and wiped your eyes. I bet money that your first thought was NOT “Dang, I could really use a fried Twinkie right about now!” Laughter keeps us in the present. It connects us to people and pleasure. It’s fun. And that’s what it’s all about.
The most precious gift you can give to the world is to show up in it and do your thing as a 100 percent healthy you. To boot, the process of rediscovering yourself is exhilarating!
